4 Paws feels the pinch

EDITOR – I am an animal rescuer.

I have bought animal food with my last dime, I have patted a mangy head with bare hands.

I have hugged those that are vicious and afraid.

I have fallen in love a thousand times, and I have cried into the fur of a lifeless body far too many times to count. I am an animal rescuer. My work is never done, my home is never quiet, my wallet is always empty but my heart is always full.

As 4 Paws and a Tale Rescue, we have managed to cover all our costs until now, but with the way things are countrywide, we are not managing and we need help.

Stocks of cutlery, crockery, linen and bric-a-brac is low, so the shops are not doing as well as they did. Support us by donating all your unwanted and unused items that you have in the home, but sadly, we cannot sell broken and unusable things that we then need to get rid of, which is an added burden. If you can’t donate, then come to our shops and support by buying something from us instead of supporting already rich conglomerates.

We have so many female and male dogs and cats that need to be sterilised but as long as funds are this short, we cannot continue our sterilisation work and it’s so important that we stop unwanted births.

Numbers of hungry, unwanted dogs grow by the day and we currently feed 170 to 190 dogs daily. This means a massive amount of money is spent on food, so sterilisations are put on the backburner.

Abuse, terrible neglect and abandonment cases are dealt with daily, something we hardly ever had to deal with. Shedding tears daily has become normal in our dealings with these animals as it is so prevalent and sad. I know I have always been able to rely on the South Coast people, so now my call for help goes out to you. I understand that we all live in the same country but I’m pleading to you to listen to your heart and support our cause in any way you can. If you want to come and see what we do, call me and you can go out with us one morning to meet the crowds we feed. This is an open invitation to anyone wanting to avail themselves to see where the money goes.

Love and sloppy kisses from all the pooches and kitties.
