Dinner fund donors dig deeper than ever

Amanzimtoti SPCA’s annual Christmas animal dinner fund fundraiser has once again raised a record amount collected to feed stray animals collected over the festive season.

“Despite the economic climate we received a record amount of R37,669,” said fund co-ordinator, Marlene Prinsloo.

“Thank you so much to all those who donated. Due to your donations, many hurt and homeless animals could be housed and fed at Amanzimtoti SPCA over the festive season.”Due to the generosity of the Toti public, the fund has increased exponentially in recent years. In 2013 the fund collected R18,000, which was surpassed by 2014’s amount of R25,000, and R29,450 last year.

“We are thrilled that our annual Christmas doggie dinner fund hit an all-time record of over R37,000,” said Amanzimtoti SPCA manager, Tracey Girling.

“This money has been used to give our dogs and cats lovely hearty meals over the busy festive season.

I thank the community for digging deep in their pockets and donating.

A special thanks to Marlene Prinsloo for all her hard work co-ordinating the fundraiser and to Earl and the South Coast Sun for printing the messages every week.”
