Rooftop burglar finally bagged

A BURGLAR who has been targeting Toti houses lately, was finally caught by the CCPO on Wednesday, 1 March.

The housebreaker, who removes roof tiles and enters through the ceiling, has been linked to at least 10 housebreakings in the last month.

“The CCPO has spent huge amounts of time and energy trying to apprehend the suspect and on Wednesday afternoon, his luck finally ran out,” said CCPO’s George Snodey.

A neighbour noticed the man on the roof of a home and called the CCPO. Responding officer, Leo was patrolling the area at the time and was able to get to the premises within minutes. He climbed on the roof and waited for the criminal to climb out. When he emerged, Leo collared him. Stolen property was recovered and the burglar was detained. When questioned, he admitted he was responsible for all the roof-entry housebreakings of late.
