Last chance to have Amanzimtoti concerns heard at city planning workshop

Ward 97 councillor, Andre Beetge.

A final attempt to conduct a community-based planning workshop for ward 97 is scheduled for the weekend of 27 and 28 May from 8.30am to 4pm in the Amanzimtoti library activities room.

The two-day workshop, facilitated by the community participation unit, will aim to introduce residents to the municipal Integrated Development Plan (IDP).

“Such interaction should include recommendations and prioritisation of community needs for inclusion into the five-year IDP,” said ward 97 councillor, Andre Beetge.

While individual residents are invited to attend, representatives of community based organisations such as sport bodies, religious groupings, environmental groupings, cultural societies, welfare organisations, gender based groups, safety and security sector, organised business, civic groupings, ward committee members and so on are encouraged to participate in an effort to obtain a holistic indication of community expectations.

Participation is free of charge. For more information, call Cllr Beetge on 082-718-8137 or email
