Get voting for the finalists of the Amplified Vibez DJ Battle Competition and help a local DJ to make his mark.

The DJ battle showcases Durban’s hottest DJ talent at Wahooz, uShaka Marine World and gives up and coming DJs a chance to win a working contract at uShaka Marine World.

The top contenders are: Siphesihle Hlela (aka DJ Stowuteri) of KwaMakhutha, Wandile Ndlela (aka DJ Smash of Pinetown), Jashen Govindsamy (aka DJ Jashmir of Chatsworth), Ndumiso Gumede (aka DJ Best of Umlazi), Siyathokoza Zulu (aka Troy of Lamontville), Philani Ngcobo (aka Philafuze of Hammarsdale), Kwanda Gcaba (aka SKG of eKwali) and Thabo Ndlovu (aka T Skies of Mtubatuba).

Judges include DJ HappyGal, who will also perform on the night, Ayanda Sigwili, a producer and current uShaka Marine World DJ, DJ Vumar of Gagasi FM and Vusi Leeuw of Vuis Leeuw Consulting.

“Don’t miss this final, as it’s going to be pumping. Based on the high calibre of talent that is through to the finals, the judges are going to have a hard time picking a winner,” said uShaka marketing executive, Mpume Mthembu.

“The competition received hundreds of entries and it has been difficult whittling it down to just eight finalists.

Finalists will be judged on their hosting abilities, mixing performance, music choice, crowd reaction and importantly, technical ability, as well as a percentage of online voting points which will be added to their final score,” said Mthembu.
