Amanzimtoti ice hockey weekend set to draw girls

Female ice skaters are invited to participate in a world girls’ ice hockey weekend at Galleria Rink on Sunday, 8 October.

“Women’s ice hockey is one of the fastest growing sports in the world, thanks to events like this and similar programmes that are being run in many countries,” said DurbaKnights Ice Hockey Club chairman, Michelle Murphy.

It is an opportunity for girls from the age of eight years and older to try ice hockey.

* Be introduced to basic skills in ice hockey in a positive, fun and safe environment;

* Learn about fair play, sportsmanship and teamwork;

* Meet new friends and have a chance to fall in love with a new sport.
