Cycling club pays it forward to development riders

ONE of Amanzimtoti Cycling Club’s objectives is development.

Last Sunday Barry Walker, the club’s chairman, proudly handed over much-needed cycling gear to 19 eager cyclists from Umlazi. There was full cycling kit for each rider together with spares like helmets, shoes, tyres and repair kits. The club, together with its main sponsor Giant Toti Athlone Park, also handed over not one but two second-hand bicycles, all of which brought huge smiles to their faces.

Sunday was the ideal day to do such a presentation as it fell on the same day as Giant Toti’s demo day. The possibility to test ride their new range of 2018 bikes ensured there was a good crowd to witness the handover. Each and every Umlazi cyclist showed true appreciation of everything that was given to them and the club is proud and humbled to be a part of such projects.

The club has new sponsors, which means new club kit. Again, Sunday was the ideal day to hand its paid-up members their new club shirt and so far, all seem to be impressed with the fit and material. Well done to the club’s road captain, Colin Bedingfield who organised the new kit. The club thanks its new sponsors, namely Giant Toti Athlone Park (main sponsor), Pickfords, Comprac and Thirsty Whale for everything they do for the club because without them, not much is possible.
