Multiple murder accused arrested at his Isipingo workplace

An Isipingo murder accused, Ndumiso Brian Ntozakhe (27) will make his second court appearance in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 13 September to face four counts of murder and one attempted murder charge.

He was arrested at his workplace at Isipingo on 4 September after he was linked to four separate murder cases, as well as an attempted murder case at Marianhill area in the past five months.

A team from Marianhill detectives conducted a crime intelligence-driven operation that led them to the Isipingo area. The latest crime he was linked to took place at Thornwood, Marianhill on 19 August, where he allegedly attacked two women in their house.

A 54-year-old woman was with her 25-year-old daughter in the Thornwood area when they were attacked. Both victims were shot before the shooter fled the scene. Duduzile ‘Tessy’ Mbonambi died instantly, while her daughter sustained serious injuries and was hospitalised. A case of murder and attempted murder was investigated by Marianhill detectives.

It is alleged the victims were shot because the accused heard rumours they were accusing him of stealing their cellphone.

KZN’s acting provincial commissioner, Major General Bheki Langa commended members for their work in linking the accused to other violent crimes. “We cannot tolerate criminals who terrorise the community and kill them for no apparent reason,” he said.
