Child (12) knocked in Umdoni Road

A twelve-year-old boy was left critically injured this afternoon (Tuesday, 14 November) when he was knocked over by a vehicle on Umdoni Road.

ER24 spokesman, Russel Meiring said paramedics arrived at about 12.10pm to find the boy lying on the side of the road. Paramedics from another service were already at the scene, and were assessing the patient.

“Paramedics found the boy had sustained a serious injury to his leg, leaving him in a critical condition. Treatment and advanced life support interventions were immediately initiated, in an effort to stabilise his vital signs. Shortly after treatment, the boy was transported by ER24 paramedics to Prince Mshiyeni Hospital for urgent care.”

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
