Get rid of stains with these home remedies

Whether you have kids that constantly stain walls and surfaces around your house or dealing with cooking stains, there are some tried and tested ways to get rid of those stubborn marks. The best part about it is that you do not have to spend a fortune on cleaning products, just use what you already have at home. Here are a few suggestions:

Crayon on the wall

Parents will know all too well about this type of stain that occurs frequently when you have a toddler who is discovering their inner artist. All you’ll need to get rid of this stain is some toothpaste, a brush and little bit of water. Brush the crayon stain until it is gone.

Clothing stains

There are a number of different products that cater specifically for clothing stains but if you do not want to spend much money then these home remedies could help. White toothpaste can get rid of stains on clothes, just dab the paste mixed with water on the stain and leave for a few minutes before washing it. Another method is mixing three tablespoons white vinegar and two tablespoons liquid detergent in 1 litre of warm water. Soak the item of clothing in the water and watch the amazing results.

Dirty grout

The crevices of walls, tiles and floors can be difficult to clean but if you have some mouthwash and a brush, you can easily get rid of them. If you have white vinegar at home, put a little bit in a spray bottle and use it to clean the grout. Hydrogen peroxide is also great for mould.

Grease stains

Grease from a pan or car grease on surfaces is always a mission to clean off. Coca-cola is a great remedy for all types of grease stains. Pour some coke over the stain and brush off with a heavy duty sponge (for kitchen grease) or heavy duty broom on floors.

 Removing wax

Wax stains from candles can be easily removed by taking a paper towel over the wax stain and iron on it on a low heat. The wax will be absorbed by the paper towel.
