Partial road closures planned for N3 west of Durban this weekend

Motorists planning trips out west of Durban this weekend are advised of a planned partial road closure on the N3 from Friday to Sunday, 14 to 16 September.

The South African National Roads Agency SOC Ltd (SANRAL) will administer the partial closure between 9am and 5pm.

The closure is necessary to replace an overhead line conductor which supplies electricity to the area.

Traffic will be diverted:

  1. N3 Eastbound towards Durban away from the slow lane (far left) to the middle and fast lane (far right) in the vicinity of Shongweni
  2. N3 Westbound towards Johannesburg away from the slow lane (far left) to the middle and fast lane (far right) in the vicinity of Shongweni
  3. Road Traffic Inspectorate will monitor the diversion of traffic

The closure dates may need to be adjusted depending on weather conditions on the day. If need be, a second notice with information of the new dates will be made available.

Motorists are urged to proceed with caution and adhere to speed limits. The patience and co-operation of motorists will be appreciated.
