Police secure 862 arrests through Fiela operations

Ethekwini’s eight Outer South Cluster police stations have made 862 arrests in the month of October.

Arrests were made for murder, rape, sexual assault, business robbery, attempted murder, assault GBH, armed robbery, house robbery, malicious damage to property, theft, shoplifting, carjacking, theft of motor vehicle, malicious damage to property, possession of drugs, dealing in liquor, drunk and driving, road infringements and dealing in liquor without a licence.

“Within the cluster, there is positive team work between all the stations, partners and units,” said acting cluster commander, Brigadier Vukani Mgobhozi. “Everyone is focused and supporting the operational plans in place to address crime and this makes the difference in removing criminals from our streets and communities.

Our Fiela operations will continue during the festive season to ensure that our visitors from other parts of the country and our community members enjoy themselves in safety.”
