Festive policing nets two in Isipingo

Police arrest a suspect in the CBD raid.

Two men were arrested in a joint operation between the eThekwini Outer South Cluster and Alpha Alarms Tactical Unit during festive season crime operations in the Isipingo CBD on Friday, 30 December.

The contingent of heavily armed police and private security members infiltrated the busy area and provided high visibility during the peak period.

The police-led unit searched suspicious people as they combed the vicinity on foot after 6pm.

One man was nabbed with a knife and one for being in possession of dagga. They were taken to Isipingo SAPS for further investigation.

Brigadier Singh, acting cluster commander, said: “We will forge ahead undeterred with such operations and provide high visible policing, especially during this busy period.

We welcome the opportunity to work with security companies and any other entity interested in combating crime. Our zero tolerance approach is unwavering.”
