SATURDAY, 29 APRIL: Durban Association of Miniature Enthusiasts hosts an exhibit at Toti library activities room on from 9am to 4pm. Three miniature scenes will be raffled off to raise funds for Jona Vaughan Home for the intellectually disabled. Entry is free and raffle tickets cost only R10. FRIDAY to SUNDAY, 26 to 28 MAY: Mountain Backpackers Club enjoys guided day hikes at Mhlopeni Nature Reserve near Greytown. At this SA natural heritage site in the Muden area, the weather may hit 0 degrees at this time of year, so wrap up warm. The self-catering camp costs R150 per person and own tent costs R80 per person. There is accommodation available. Guided hikes on Saturday and Sunday will take in the beautiful bushveld, game and prolific birdlife. Pre-booking and payment is essential. Email [email protected] for details.
