FRIDAY, 5 MAY: Amanzimtoti Probus Club hold a special bumper May meeting at 9.30am for 10am in the safe, beautiful, and tranquil surroundings of the Umbogavango Nature Reserve. The club welcomes Scottburgh Probus club members who, together with their wives, will share the morning with the Toti club.

WEDNESDAY, 26 APRIL: 21 Club’s 65th birthday luncheon at Lords and Legends conference room, noon for 12.30pm. The theme colour is purple. Members are reminded to take contributions for hampers to be raffled to raise funds for Storm’s sight restoration trip to America. Members are asked to contact their relevant committee member to advise of their intention to attend or not.


SATURDAY, 29 APRIL: Durban Association of Miniature Enthusiasts hosts an exhibit at Toti library activities room from 9am to 3pm. Three miniature scenes will be raffled off to raise funds for Jona Vaughan Home for the intellectually disabled. Entry is free and raffle tickets cost only R10. SATURDAY, 29 APRIL: Amanzimtoti Lions Club showcases the 53rd annual Highland Gathering, featuring 33 pipe bands from all over the country at Hutchison Park. Entrance fees for the Highlands Gathering and Lifestyle Expo: Adults R50, students R30, R20 for pensioners and children under 10, while children under six enter for free. TUESDAY, 2 MAY: Join the Israel study group to learn and discover more about Israel’s history, biblical truths relevant to today and Hebrew words and names. SATURDAY, 6 MAY: The Sanctuary of the Great White Light at 9 Barrow Street, Umkomaas hosts an angel workshop from 2pm to 4.30pm. FRIDAY TO SUNDAY, 26 TO 28 MAY: Mountain Backpackers Club enjoys guided day hikes at Mhlopeni Nature Reserve near Greytown. At this SA natural heritage site in the Muden area, the weather may hit 0 degrees at this time of year, so wrap up warm. The self-catering camp costs R150 per person and own tent costs R80 per person. There is accommodation available. Guided hikes on Saturday and Sunday will take in the beautiful bushveld, game and prolific birdlife. Pre-booking and payment is essential. Email [email protected] for details. Learn to play bridge

Toti Bird Park’s charity tea garden operates every Wednesday morning from 9.15am to noon. The community is encouraged to support this fundraising initiative. All income is used to support the needs of local children’s charities.
