Authorities join forces to hold multi-disciplinary roadblock

A joint operation between Amanzimtoti SAPS, RTI Winklespruit and the Department of Home Affairs and Immigration was held on Tuesday, 25 April.

At a multi-disciplinary roadblock that took place on the northbound onramp in Winklespruit, authorities targeted the following crimes: Stolen goods, drugs, unlicensed firearms, illegal immigrants, RTA offences and traffic warrants.

A total of 88 vehicles and 186 people were searched. Two J534 summonses (to pay a fine before a certain date with an option to appear in court in the event where the fine is not paid), two camera summonses, and 16 traffic summonses were issued and 157 driver’s licences were checked.
